Melanoma Surgery – Day after surgery

I’m back! I made it through to the other side. My surgery was short and sweet and everything went as expected.

All I remember is getting on the operating table then waking up in post op with the right side of my face being numb. I stayed in post op with my wife for a couple of hours then we left the hospital.

I was a bit groggy and dizzy, but otherwise fine. I was starving so we stopped at a Panera Bread to get something to eat. It was funny to see the reaction of people when they looked at my face with bandages and blood dripping down my neck. I didn’t care because I was starving and on drugs ;) .

When I got out of the car I noticed my right front tire had large bulb sticking out of the side wall of the tire. I didn’t want to take a chance driving all the way back to Orlando with the suspect tire so after we ate we went to Sears and got two new front tires.

We finally got home around 5pm and I situated myself on the couch to watch some tv and rest. The only thing the hospital recommended was to sleep upright and not do anything strenous. Before settling down I had my wife take a picture of my face:
