Melanoma Surgery - Day 38
Hey, Monkey Potter here… I just wanted to update everyone on my facial scar.
I visited the Moffit Cancer Center last week for a follow up visit with the surgeon. To be honest, it was a big waste of time. Overall, I took roughly 4 hours out of my day to have him look at my face for one minute and take two pictures of my scar. I could have taken the pictures myself and sent them to him if that was all he was going to do.
I mentioned to him that I had been using Mederma and the silicone patch together and saw some immediate results and he poo-poo’d the idea. He told me the money I spent on the Mederma and silicone patches would be better served if given to a charity. He doesn’t believe Mederma or the silicone patch does anything. Oh well, I’m still going to do it.
The scar is healing slowly, but surely. The tightness is still there, but going away gradually. I still have the numbness and I don’t except this to get better for months so I’m not too worried about not having any feeling now.
