Melanoma Surgery - Day 97
Geez…It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a month since my last post. The healing process for facial scars tends to be on the slow side after a few months and I don’t want to bore you with pictures every week. I think monthly scar updates with suffice.
I’ve stopped using the silicone patch because I don’t have anymore “bumpiness” and to be honest with you I got tired of wearing it. The scar is relatively smooth now and I’ve only been applying Mederma.
Some days my face feels tight and other days I don’t even notice anything. I have the occassional pain, but other than that it’s been uneventful. I have noticed on some days the scar seems to be less red. I don’t know if this is just me seeing things or the scar is actually redder one day and less red the other.
I’m almost out of my Mederma and I’m thinking of putting retin-a on my scar now. I’ve read some stuff on the internet about people using it to treat acne scars and my wife believes it will help me so I’m going to try it as soon as my Mederma runs out.
Monkey out.
